Uttara Ashada | The Victorious
Moon in U. Ashada + Krishna Chaturthi (4th lunar day after full moon)
Today the Moon transits Uttara Ashada, in the signs of Sagittarius and Capricorn. Uttara Ashada means, The Highest Victory or She Who Expresses All Talents and it is the universal star.
They have unending gifts, skills and talents that have been revealed through their striving for the highest victory.
An Uttara Ashada person is guaranteed the power of complete victory…eventually. They feel this to be true and it creates a striving attitude where they are consistently competing, learning and finding their way to the apex of the mountain.
One of the three nakshatras ruled by the Sun, it is a purposeful placement. Unlike Krittika, which is the first octave of the Sun nakshatras and has the sense of having to go it alone and cut ties, Uttara Phalguni, the second octave of the Sun nakshatras is learning that it is time to find the right resources to do something bigger. Here in Uttara Ashada, it is about learning that you had the gifts, skills and talents all along. You just have to remove the barriers to knowing and utilizing these gifts. They must be unlocked.
There are ten qualities you will find in every Uttara Ashada person:
1. Goodness
2. Truth
3. Will Power
4. Ritual | Skill
5. Time
6. Desire
7. Firmness | Forbearance
8. Ancestors
9. Abundance | Brightness
10. Peak of Joy
A key symbol of the Uttara Ashada is the elephant tusk - which signifies the matriarch of the tribe. The leader of the herd has the brightest, largest tusk and it shows her ability to be victorious, through time and goodness and the other ten qualities.
When Moon transits Uttara Ashada, like it is doing today, you might find yourself working with one of these ten qualities, or even frustrated that you haven’t made it to the apex yet. Remember, this is a lifetime of striving and the victory is gained in time, not today.
Here are my song picks, The Victorious deserves two picks today to remind them of their ability to forbear!
Would love to hear if this resonated for you, and how.
PS…here is the link to Krittika for reference. And also Uttara Phalguni.
