A Karmic Knot, Loosening: The Initiation Has Begun
I’m writing to you from the sacred hush of Hope Springs, where the land itself feels like it's humming a low, reverent song. We’re in ceremony here — breath and earth, body and intention — as volunteers quietly prepare the grounds for the upcoming 30th anniversary celebration their Saturn’s Return preparations. And humbly of service on Saturn’s birthday. A spiral within a spiral.
There’s a chill in the air — the kind that whispers change — and a tender warmth in every solar plexus as each person tends their task with quiet devotion. Sweeping, placing, blessing. It feels like Saturn is watching, arms crossed and half-smiling, nodding slowly with approval.
And so, I wanted to bring you into the conversation that has made its way to my lips no less than three times this week — which means, of course, it’s meant for more than just those who asked. It’s meant for you, too.
As you may remember from our recent conversations, we’ve been walking through a powerful corridor — four major transits over the past two months, each one an initiation of its own. But now comes what I can only describe as the cherry on top — or perhaps more aptly, the sacred seal. Two more transits, seemingly subtle, yet carrying profound karmic weight.
We’re entering the territory of the gandantas — those mysterious knots in the sky where endings and beginnings meet. There are three of them, nestled like guardians at the threshold between water and fire in the zodiac. Their name means karmic knots, and they are ruled by Ketu, the south node of the Moon — the great liberator. Not the freedom that escapes, but the freedom that comes from understanding. From surrender. From remembering that we are souls, learning through this strange, beautiful experience of being human.
These knots cannot be forced open. Just like that delicate chain you love, tangled in itself — the more you tug in frustration, the tighter it pulls. Sometimes the only way forward is to pause, breathe, rest. Begin again with soft hands and steady heart.
The first knot: Ashwini.
The very first of the 27 nakshatras, Ashwini is the cosmic spark — the sacred initiation. And what timing. After a year of unraveling, Venus begins her passage through this karmic doorway from May 29th to June 2nd, crossing from Pisces (her place of exaltation and grace) into Aries on May 31st — the sign of bold beginnings, but also a place of tension for her.
She’s had full permission to dream, to romanticize, to expand in Pisces — and now she’s being called into action. The pleasure must meet purpose. The fantasy must move its feet. This isn’t punishment — it’s alchemy.
The second knot: Magha.
This one holds the wisdom of the ancestors — the throne of earned leadership. Magha is regal, mighty, and ruled by lineage. Mars enters this knot on June 3rd, leaving it on June 9th, and stepping into Leo — Magha’s home — on June 6th.
Mars has been through the underworld. Debilitated, retrograde, stripped of his usual fire. But every descent holds sacred medicine. Did we learn what we were meant to? Did we stop forcing and start listening?
Now, as Mars walks through this ancestral fire with Ketu nearby, don’t be surprised if clarity dawns like a lightning strike. We may finally begin to understand why things unfolded the way they did. The throne isn’t given — it’s claimed, humbly, when we’re ready.
The third knot: Mula.
Hours after the Full Moon, on June 11th the Moon slips into Mula — the final gandanta. The Rooted One. This star doesn't mess around. It tears down illusions in order to restore truth. It uproots what no longer belongs.
The Moon touches Mula every month — that’s not new. But this time, she follows closely behind Venus and Mars, as if sealing a ritual. First the heart, then the will, then the emotional body — all passing through the knots. All releasing. All remembering.
To me, this sequence says: Now we are ready.
Ready for what? That part is yours to discover.
So I offer you this invitation: Reflect.
Not with judgment or pressure, but with reverence.
What have you learned in these last five to six years — not just intellectually, but deep in your bones? What has softened? What has strengthened?
How do you see yourself now? Your path? Your relationships with time, with trust, with Truth?
And most importantly: What will you carry forward, and what will you finally lay down?
The knots are loosening. Not by force, but by grace.
And somewhere, Saturn is still watching — not as a punisher, but as a teacher. Pleased with your devotion, your effort, your becoming.
Let the unraveling continue.
Let the new story begin.
Heads Up: I may be offering an impromptu online class tomorrow evening around 7pm (Memorial Day).
