And here we are. A mere two weeks away from the next Solar Eclipse on October 2nd.
One thing that has become more and more clear the longer I practice Jyotisha, is that I’m looking at the bigger cycle, the bigger theme, the overarching lessons of evolution, versus looking at ‘what this day means.’ That has become self evident through this entire transit of the nodes through Pisces and Virgo, my 1st and 7th axis.
It is important to try to distill this information to something practical and tangible (and bite size); I’ll do my best.
The lunar eclipse (and full moon) for Tuesday is happening in the sign of Pisces. Pisces is about surrender, liberation and the stream of consciousness flowing back and forth between heaven and earth. There is a huge emphasis of believing, hope, optimism, and mysticism.
Because it is an eclipse, one of the nodes is with the Moon. Rahu is conjunct the moon in Pisces. And Rahu shows us what is being denied to us. Yes, it is also our soul’s yearning and what our soul wants to do in this lifetime, yet somehow it is being withheld.
What is being withheld? Spiritual satisfaction; bypassing is not allowed, you have to face the cold harsh reality of what actually is happening, what the lessons of Virgo are bringing to the surface. You cannot just check out and be at one with that stream of consciousness; you (we all) are being called upon to co-participate with our karma.
This is shadow work (the nodes are the shadows of the luminaries Moon and Sun).
Part 2 of this eclipse is in Virgo and it will be showing what we are attracting. We are attracting those Piscean lessons and vibes, but they are only gifted to us with our own sacrifice of doing the hard work of Virgo. Not bypassing problems with people, with our health, with taking care of the earth. As we learn the lesson and ideal of Virgo and respect that terrain, we will be able to enter the gates of Piscean Peace. (More on this in a couple of weeks.)
To identify what kind of lesson this is for you, what sphere of life, determine what house Pisces is for you. For me it is the 1st house (and Virgo the 7th). Then apply these lessons for those areas of your life. Let yourself really dive in and hear your own inner calling to co-participate to make this Earth healthier and safer for all sentient beings. What else is there to do anyway?
We can dive in a little deeper by looking at the nakshatra for the Full Moon. It is Purva Bhadrapada (Rahu is in Uttara Bhadrapada, however).
What stands out to me most, based on the experiences I’m having, and also the renditions told to me by those in my sphere of influence, is that this is the phoenix rising from the ashes vibe. It is purification and detachment.
There is not a lot of willingness to co-participate with the Virgo lessons. We want to hide in the depths of the ocean’s calm and cool down. However, this IS when transformation happens. When we can sacrifice our own inner peace and take a moment to be in the world, helping the world, caring for the world and the Great Mother. After all, Virgo is really about being the temple caretaker (caring for the temple of the Goddess). That is why Virgo is so anxiety prone. No effort is too great for caring of Mother. More care is always called for. More attention.
Purva Bhadra brings the shakti to breath spiritual fire. That is the fire of transformation that awakens us by transforming what is no longer needed into something of high value. And in that, we are able to open that channel to heaven. To read more about what I’ve written about these eclipses over the year, click here.
On Tuesday, I am holding a special lunar eclipse circle with breathwork and restorative yoga, plus a chance to share in circle. I have a few spots available for those local people who might be interested in aligning with this energy. Class is 6-8pm and then the fullness of the Full Moon Eclipse is 10:34pm. Join me at this link: https://thewisdomsanctuary.as.me/lunaseptember
Additionally, I will be teaching an online 12-week Jyotisha and Breathwork class where we will go one of the 12 houses each week and learn about it on a higher ideal and ways to align, and then take a curated breathwork class to help support that alignment.
