Today is Ekadashi, the 11th day of the waxing moon. Ekadashi happens twice a month, on the waxing and waning lunar cycles and it is a particularly potent day to practice Brahmacharya, one of the ethics of yoga where we move our attention intentionally from the worldly to focus on our walk with God.

Rarely, people take an Ekadashi practice twice a month and use the day for intermittent fasting from toxic food, technology and anything that creates overstimulation in order to have a more sattvic (balanced or even) break in their regular routines.

If you take on the twice yearly Ayurvedic (other other) cleanse practices in the spring and the fall, the Ekadashi practice is a way to gently keep in the spirit of practice without completely falling off the horse.

Thank you for reading Wisdom Bites. This post is public so feel free to share it.

Starting in September, I will start bringing back the monthly Ayurvedic classes in monthly workshops I’m calling ‘Live/Love/Matter’. In September, it will be preparing for the fall cleanse and just a general kickoff to Ayurveda as a rejuvenation practice. I’m so ready to take this back on. I bet you are too.

The workshops are available online or in person, drop-in or via the monthly membership. Take the dose that is right for you. You can learn more here: www.huntingtonyoga.com/live-love-matter/
